Southland Holdings is currently accepting resumes for highly motivated civil construction professionals to join our team as a
Project Engineer
in the Dallas, TX area. We are seeking talented, sharp‑minded Civil Engineers and Construction Managers with solid construction experience to help staff upcoming projects. Responsibilities
Develop, monitor, and update integrated project plans and schedules to execute projects efficiently. Prepare baseline scheduling documents for project team approval. Assess impacts to critical path activities and report to the project team. Monitor schedule deviations and assist in developing alternate corrective actions. Provide schedule progress reports, trending charts, and schedule analysis on a periodic basis. Ensure credibility of schedule information and review schedules with team members regularly. Verify schedule integrity, evaluate logic, and float paths. Evaluate activity sequences for constructability and analyze change orders for schedule impacts. Resource load schedules as required by the project team. Perform job‑site walks to verify physical progress of scheduled activities. Travel to jobsites as required. Manage project submittals, RFI drafting, purchase orders, and negotiate contract pricing to stay under budget. Maintain schedules on Microsoft Project or Primavera and perform budgeting and cost projections. Handle large amounts of word processing, correspondence letters, and attend progress meetings. Read and interpret plans and specifications; communicate verbally and electronically in a professional manner with owners and engineers. Work in office and spend time in the field to understand what is being built; manage and schedule deliveries from suppliers; schedule and coordinate subcontractors. Field Activities
Daily installation quantity record keeping. Daily start and stop station recording for record drawings. Equipment hour tracking. Meet with subcontractors and suppliers on site. Attend necessary field meetings and capture progress photos. Qualifications
Construction/related degree with 3 to 5 years construction scheduling experience. Excellent computer skills and analytical ability. Experience working with Primavera P6. Understanding of industrial construction process. Must have ability to interpret contract specifications and drawings. Knowledge of contract procedures and principles. Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment. Understanding construction logic and sequencing of complex projects. Education
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. About Southland Holdings
