DroneShield offers an opportunity to solve some of the world’s most challenging technical problems in Electronic Warfare, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, RF sensing and distributed systems. Working with high-profile customers across militaries, government agencies, airports, critical infrastructure and law enforcement. About the role

The Platform team is a nimble, specialized team creating customer product platforms and constantly improving developer experiences and our CI/CD systems. This role will impact product quality, process speed, and engineering velocity. Responsibilities

Work closely with a larger Platforms team in Headquarters to support the DroneSentry C2 product and ruggedized field hardware. Maintain high-level Linux skills and automate provisioning, patching, and system diagnostics. Maintain and evolve custom Linux images based on Ubuntu Classic and Ubuntu Core for both x86 and ARM platforms. Provide Level 3 support for OS and system-level issues across production and deployed assets. Build, evolve, and support DroneShield’s CI/CD systems and workflows. Define and manage infrastructure using Terraform (AWS, on-prem, and hybrid environments). Improve the observability stack and telemetry coverage (metrics, logs, traces). Support the rollout of security and compliance practices via automated guardrails. Track and improve DORA metrics: deployment frequency, lead time, MTTR, and change failure rate. Write automation and platform tooling in Go, Python, or TypeScript to support internal systems. Support US-based developers. Qualifications

Extensive experience operating and debugging Linux systems (Ubuntu Core, Ubuntu Classic, Debian, RHEL, or Yocto-based). Experience with secure boot, TPMs, disk encryption, and OS-level security controls. Ability to build and manage bare metal, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure (AWS preferred; Azure also valued). Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling (ideally GitLab, but flexible). Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform (Enterprise and Open Source). Programming or scripting experience with Python and Go. Experience with Bash and one or more configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, Chef). Working knowledge of system observability, logging, and performance analysis tools; experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes). Understanding of core networking fundamentals (IP routing, DNS, iptables/nftables, bonding/VLANs). Awareness of US Government security requirements and guidelines for hardware, OS, software, and SDLC. We do not accept floated candidates from external recruiters unless they were instructed to do so.
