About the Role

The Human Resources Business Partner plays an integral role in leveraging cross-functional partnerships to foster a positive workplace environment through employee communication and engagement. The HRBP partners closely with the operational management and employees to drive corporate HR initiatives that support safety, employee engagement, operational efficiency, and compliance. The HRBP serves as a trusted advisor to operational managers and supervisors to ensure alignment between business goals and HR strategies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 2 years as a strategic HRBP or Sr. Generalist in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification.

Required Skills

Proven ability to influence, coach and build relationships across all levels of the organization.

Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices in a non-union environment.

Comfortable working in a plant setting with regular presence on the production floor.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms – Paylocity preferred.

Ability to travel up to 20% of time via car and plane.

Responsibilities

Fosters a positive and respectful work environment aligned with company values and safety culture.

Assists with creating and driving employee engagement, recognition, and communication programs to strengthen morale and retention.

Coordinates and participates in employee activities and events.

In collaboration with the HR Director, provides guidance to managers and employees on performance issues, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution in a fair, consistent, and legally compliant manner.

Partners with the HR Director to conduct internal investigations when needed and recommend appropriate actions based on findings.

Partners with the HR Manager to attract and hire qualified candidates for hourly production and salaried roles.

Participates in onboarding and orientation processes that ensure new employees are set up for long-term success.

In coordination with the HR Director and Safety Manager, ensures compliance with all relevant labor laws, OSHA safety standards, and company policies.

Maintains accurate HR records, supports audits, and administers leaves of absence and benefits as assigned. Enters accurate data into all required databases and electronic employee files.

Completes, maintains, and processes offboarding documents.

Supports safety compliance related activities as assigned.

Monitors and provides key HR metrics data such as turnover, attendance, headcount, and corrective actions to the HR Director. Uses data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvements.

Works closely with the other members of the Human Resources team and serves as a backup resource as assigned.
