This role offers the opportunity to work alongside accomplished attorneys in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment while supporting complex insurance defense litigation cases.
Key Responsibilities
Assist attorneys in all phases of
insurance defense litigation , from case inception through trial.
Draft, review, and prepare
legal documents, pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and trial exhibits .
Conduct
legal research
on case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to insurance defense matters.
Manage and organize
case files, medical records, expert reports, and deposition summaries .
Coordinate and track
court deadlines, depositions, hearings, and trial schedules .
Assist in
fact investigation, witness interviews, and document review
to support case development.
Prepare for
trials, mediations, and depositions , including organizing trial binders and exhibits.
Review and summarize
medical records, accident reports, and insurance policies .
Work closely with
clients, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses .
Manage
electronic discovery (e‑discovery) and document production
using legal case management software.
Qualifications
Education:
Paralegal certificate or associate/bachelor’s degree in legal studies or a related field.
Experience:
3+ years of experience as an
insurance defense paralegal
in a law firm setting.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of
insurance defense litigation, court procedures, and case management .
Proficiency in
legal research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis), e‑filing systems, and document management software .
Excellent
organizational, communication, and time‑management skills .
Ability to
prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment .
Experience reviewing and summarizing
medical records and insurance policies
is a plus.
