12‑18 month W2 contract to full‑time, hybrid on‑site in Atlanta, GA, Richmond, VA, Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro or Wilson, NC. Pay $75‑81/hr; future FTE $120‑140k.

Summary Lead administration, maintenance, optimization and ongoing support of the Workday Compensation module. Work closely with HR, Compensation, IT and business stakeholders to align Workday solutions with organizational compensation strategies.

Responsibilities

Design, configure and deploy Workday Compensation, including base pay, merit, bonus and advanced compensation plans.

Translate business requirements into system configurations and ensure alignment with compensation policies and compliance standards.

Conduct gap analysis and recommend system or process improvements.

Configure and maintain compensation templates, guidelines, eligibility rules and security roles.

Act as functional lead on Workday Compensation projects, including implementations, enhancements and integrations with payroll or other HR systems.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including HR, IT and external consultants.

Serve as primary liaison between business units and technical Workday team.

Facilitate workshops, gather requirements and communicate configuration decisions and implications.

Train and support HR and Compensation teams in use of Workday Compensation tools.

Develop and execute test plans, scripts and UAT for new or modified configurations.

Validate data accuracy and system functionality post‑implementation.

Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for Workday Compensation‑related issues.

Monitor Workday releases and assess impact on current configuration and business processes.

Ensure data integrity through audits, validation routines and proactive maintenance.

Must Have

5+ years of HR systems experience, at least 3 years focused on Workday Compensation.

Proven experience leading Workday Compensation implementations or major enhancements.

Strong knowledge of compensation structures, guidelines and compliance requirements.

Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Workday Pro certification or partner certification in Compensation (preferred).

Bachelor’s Degree.

Preferred

Experience using Rally Agile tool.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.

Detail‑oriented with strong documentation and process mapping capabilities.

Comfortable with change management and training delivery.

Expertise in configuring supporting Workday Performance, Workday Security or Workday Benefits.

Master’s Degree.
