Yes Hours of Work Hours of Work TBA Position Information Posting Number Posting Number TSU203521 Official TSU Title ASSISTANT PROFESSOR: HEALTH SCIENCES (HIM/HA) Grant Title N/A Job Description Summary / TWC Summary This tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Health Sciences will teach professional health science courses, engages in scholarly research, serves on departmental and college committees, and participates in professional activities, including internal and external conferences and seminars. S/he will perform other duties within the range of skills normally associated with a faculty position of this classification in an evolving teaching and learning environment within an integrated learner-centered academic program. Teaches didactic and experiential programs in the classroom, laboratory, or online. Engages in active scholarly activities. Provides services to College, University, and Community. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. % FTE 1.0 Hiring Range Hiring Range $74,942.19 - $97,425.00 Education Ph.D degree in a public health or health-related field. Required Licensing/Certification A certification as a registered Health Information Manager ( RHIA ) or Nutritionist will be preferable. Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of: Multiple disciplines in health science Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications. Knowledge of health information and nutrition. Skill in:

Lead the development or modification of work procedures in the discipline or function for virtually any situation. Work independently. Strong commitment to teaching and scholarship. Work with students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Work Experience

Capability to teach in different Health Science programs. A history in health sciences’ counseling and education, research in the health sciences, knowledge of biochemistry. Prior experience teaching at the undergraduate level in didactic, laboratory courses and online (2-3 years desirable). Prior scholarly activity in an area of interest is desirable. Working/Environmental Conditions
