Overview
Lockheed Martin is a global leader in aerospace, defense, and technology solutions. This Contract Instructor Pilot (CIP) role supports USMC F‑35B and F‑35C squadrons at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California. The position is onsite and requires travel to CONUS and OCONUS F‑35 Enterprise training locations as operational needs dictate.
Responsibilities
Fly the F‑35 Full Mission Simulator, leading students with two‑ and four‑ship flight lead proficiency and incremental simulator certification.
Instruct academic training using Electronic Mediated Lecture (EML) and/or Interactive Courseware (ICW), serving as subject matter expert on pilot training courseware updates.
Deliver fleet training and operate Instructor Operating Stations (IOS) while coordinating with Lockheed Martin team and squadron training staff to meet F‑35 training objectives.
Prepare and deliver briefs, tactical lectures, and training events using the MS Office suite and create new training events when directed.
Travel to F‑35 Enterprise training locations CONUS/OCONUS and support system upgrade training as operational needs require.
Qualifications
Active Secret clearance with investigation or CV within the past five years.
U.S. citizen seeking a government security clearance.
Minimum of 1,000 flight hours in fourth‑ and/or fifth‑generation multi‑role fighter aircraft.
F‑35 flight experience and full mission simulator (FMS) operational and instructor experience.
Two‑ship lead military qualification and current instructor pilot qualification (USAF/USN/USMC).
Demonstrated experience delivering military pilot academics and simulator training.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and strong oral and written communication skills.
Desired Skills
Graduated from TOPGUN, MAWTS, or Weapon School.
Experience as a USAF/USN/USMC Instructor Pilot with multinational fighter experience.
Fifth‑generation full mission simulator experience as an operator and/or instructor.
Security Clearance This position requires a Secret clearance with investigation or CV date within five years.
