The Mobile Source Laboratory Division (MSLD) is seeking a qualified, self‑motivated and creative Air Pollution Specialist (APS) to join our Data Development Services Section (DDSS). The incumbent will develop and maintain custom Windows or web applications while providing laboratory data support to MSLD staff and clients. Responsibilities
Work with engineers and specialists to develop and maintain Windows or web‑based applications and databases for electronic certification. Process and analyze exhaust emissions and speciation data collected at Southern California Headquarters. Design, modify and ensure data quality and consistency within MSLD databases. Apply systems analysis principles to define regulatory program data requirements. Document business processes, design data collection methods, validate data and design database storage and retrieval systems. Perform basic system administration and maintenance for existing applications. Represent California Air Resources Board in workshops related to implementing new applications. Minimum Requirements
AIR POLLUTION SPECIALIST classification (JC‑495644) Understanding of systems administration, application development and database design. Experience with Visual Studio, C# or VB.NET, Oracle and/or MsSql, and developing database procedures. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related science major.
