Job Summary The Easy Day Foundation (EDF) Executive Director will oversee the day-to-day operations with a focus on the Foundation’s governance, financial sustainability, and operations. The candidate will also lead fundraising and community outreach, communications, and ensure accountability in financial reporting, and fund management. He or she will lead the collaborative relationships established with strategic non‑profit partners, as well as work with the special event manager. He/she will be the spokesperson for the organization.

Key Responsibilities Governance

Ensure the day-to-day operations are conducted within the guidelines of the IRS for 501c3 operations

Report to board of directors and work in concert with them to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to take EDF to the next level

Fiscal Affairs

Establish an annual operating budget and ensure that donations are focused on programmatic goals

Create a fundraising plan that incorporates fundraising strategies to include a diverse source of funds that fulfill the budgetary requirements

Identify and secure funding opportunities through donor cultivation and fundraising activities such as donor visits and large-scale EDF events

Events

Work with the special event consultant to ensure annual concert event and smaller events are executed with excellence

Donor Relations

Maintain accurate donor records in data base and ensure accurate and timely stewardship occurs

Build and steward relationships with key stakeholders, including and not limited to veterans' organizations, government agencies, and community partners

Ensure all aspects of donors’ relationships are “full service” including identification of donor prospects, successful asks, donor information completed in database and acknowledgment letters

Programmatic Responsibilities

Provide exceptional leadership to advance EDF’s mission and strategic goals

Oversee the development and implementation of programs and initiatives that support veterans' mental health and job readiness

Represent EDF in public forums, conferences, and media appearances to raise awareness and advocate for veterans' needs

Monitor and continually evaluate the effectiveness of EDF programs, making necessary adjustments when needed to achieve outcomes

Communications

Create a plan for traditional and social media as well as a production of an email newsletter for supporters

Producing an annual EDF Impact Report

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise EDF consultants as needed

Minimum Qualifications of Position

Undergraduate degree

Experience working for small start-up environments

3 - 5 years’ experience working for a foundation or non-profit organizations

Knowledge of relevant laws, ethical standards, and regulations in the NPO sector

Experience in fundraising, donor relations and financial management
