Anticipated Salary Range: $111,662.00 - $160,000.00. This estimate is based on the role’s location, expectations, and responsibilities. Additional compensation may be addressed during the interview process.

Job Description We are currently seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team. As a Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer-based systems, working closely with talented engineers to create solutions that meet our clients’ needs.

You will work with modern tools and technologies, stay up-to-date with the latest developments, and contribute to a dynamic, collaborative team committed to high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

Develop Java-based software capabilities.

Apply strong testing skills and an inquisitive nature.

Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines.

Collaborate in a fast-paced, small business environment.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Security Clearance – A current Secret level U.S. Government security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship required.

At least 5 years of experience in Software Engineering, Modern Java Frameworks and Libraries (e.g. Spring, Guava) and a Bachelors in a related field; 3 years relevant experience with a Masters in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

Experience in RESTful web services.

Experience in Microservices architecture.

Experience in Object Oriented Programming (OOP) paradigms.

Experience with the agile software lifecycle.

Proven ability to learn quickly and work well both independently as well as in a team setting.

Experience with the Linux operating system.

Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Git, Nexus, Maven).

Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 1-2 days per week at our Columbia, MD office. Flexibility is essential to adapt to schedule changes as needed.

Preferred Requirements

A current TS/SCI CI Poly level clearance is preferred.

DoD 8140/8570 compliance certification (Security+) is preferred.

Experience in cloud-based technologies (AWS, Azure).

Experience in distributed databases, NoSQL databases, full text-search engines (e.g. Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Solr).

Scripting experience is a huge plus.

Prior experience or familiarity with our Big Data Platform is a plus.

Understanding of AGILE software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Github Enterprise, etc.).
