Locums Radiologist - Grass Valley, CaliforniaOutpatient Breast Imaging Focus (IMAGING + BIOPSIES) Start Date & Schedule

Start: January
Duration: 6-9 months
Frequency: One week every other month
Specific week determined by coverage needs

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Call: None

Setting: Outpatient Clinic Licensing & Certifications

California Medical License - REQUIRED
Board Certification - Highly Preferred (Board Eligible accepted)
Residency - REQUIRED (No fellowship required)
BLS / ACLS and DEA - REQUIRED at credentialing

Clinical Role & Duties

Read studies across all modalities
Focus on mammography and breast biopsies
Must be able to read:
Diagnostic mammograms
Screening mammograms
PET scans

Must be able to perform breast biopsies

Will also read general radiology studies:

MRI

Ultrasound

X-ray

Can defer any reads outside comfort zone to teleradiology group (MRG) Monthly Volumes (Average)

Screening Mammograms: 225
Diagnostic Mammograms: 30
Breast Procedures (biopsies, wire localization, etc.): 13

Support & Tools

EMR: Cerner
On-site support from:
Radiology technologists
Ultrasound techs
Additional clinical support staff

Reason for Coverage

Coverage needed due to radiologist resignation

Ideal Candidate

Comfortable with breast imaging and biopsies
Able to read PET scans (preferred, not required)
Willing to help with additional general studies
Available one week every other month for 6-9 months
