Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized, experienced, and professional Residential Construction Manager to lead the successful delivery of high-end residential construction projects, including custom new builds and renovations. This position oversees the full lifecycle of each project—from pre-construction through completion—ensuring that every detail reflects the highest standards of quality, craftsmanship, and client satisfaction.

Location: Projects are primarily located in the Lake Norman area, with office support based in Cornelius, NC. This is a hands-on role requiring daily job site presence and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of construction from pre-construction through final delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and to exceptional standards.
• Manage multiple job sites, construction schedules, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with architects, designers, inspectors, engineers, and suppliers.
• Conduct regular job site inspections for quality control, cleanliness, and safety compliance.
• Lead client communication throughout the construction process, including walkthroughs, updates, and prompt resolution of issues or concerns.
• Ensure all required inspections are scheduled, passed, and properly documented.
• Maintain accurate project records, including schedules, documentation, change orders, and photos.
• Lead homeowner orientations and manage the post-close punch list and warranty process.
• Foster a collaborative, solutions-focused environment across subcontractors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in residential construction, including new custom homes and high-end renovations (commercial experience a plus).
• Deep understanding of residential construction methods, scheduling, cost control, and local building codes.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with a proven ability to deliver projects independently and efficiently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with construction/project management software (e.g., Buildertrend, CoConstruct, Procore) preferred.
• Excellent time management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
