Our client, a global wholesale company, is looking to add an HR Generalist to their growing HR team.
Job Title: HR Generalist
Location: Westchester, NY (Hybrid – minimum 3 days per week in office: Tuesday–Thursday)
About the Role
Join our dynamic team as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees. This role blends strategic partnership with hands-on execution to drive impactful people initiatives across talent management, employee engagement, talent acquisition, employee relations, and talent development. The HR Generalist will also play a key role in delivering seamless operational and administrative support to enhance the overall employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business leaders to align people strategies with organizational objectives.
- Partner with hiring managers and the broader HR team to deliver a best-in-class onboarding experience.
- Implement the ADP onboarding tool for our group to streamline and enhance the new hire experience.
- Conduct training sessions for managers and employees on performance management processes and select benefits plans to drive understanding and adoption.
- Support full-cycle talent management, including performance reviews, employee development, and succession planning.
- Work closely with internal teams to address matters related to benefits, payroll, and compliance.
- Run regular headcount, census, and benefits participation reports to support data-driven decision making and compliance.
- Provide strategic coaching and counsel to managers on employee relations, team performance, and organizational effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR data to support compliance, reporting, and documentation requirements.
- Partner with hiring managers to identify talent needs, draft and update job descriptions, and implement effective hiring strategies.
- Assist managers in drafting and implementing performance improvement plans (PIPs) to support employee development and accountability.
- Collaborate with the broader HR team on initiatives related to talent, wellness, and employee engagement, including the summer internship program.
- Provide general HR support and coverage as needed.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively complex HR generalist experience.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, including employee relations, benefits, compliance, talent management, and talent development.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to diverse audiences.
- Proven relationship-building and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality.
- In-depth understanding of employment laws and regulations across multiple states.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (preferably ADP Workforce Now), with comfort working with data and reports.
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent) preferred.
