Title: Service Desk/Desktop Support Engineer Location: Urbana, MD Type : Contract

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Desk/Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT support team. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of hands-on experience in managing and maintaining desktop infrastructure, providing Level 1 and Level 2 support, and ensuring seamless IT operations in a 24x7 environment. This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, excellent communication, and a customer-focused mindset. Key Responsibilities:

Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals. Manage and maintain Windows 7/10/11 environments on Client/Dell hardware. Support remote users via tools like LogMeIn, TeamViewer, and Remote Desktop. Configure and troubleshoot Office 365, Exchange 2013, and Outlook (including distribution lists, email archiving, and migrations). Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and user account management (password resets, group assignments, etc.). Install, configure, and support antivirus software (e.g., SOPHOS, Symantec, TrendMicro). Maintain and troubleshoot third-party applications (Adobe, Skype for Business, Chrome, etc.). Support MAC laptops and mobile device configurations (iOS/Android). Monitor and resolve tickets using ITSM tools such as Cherwell and Track-IT. Perform hardware installations, upgrades, and replacements (RAM, HDD, motherboards). Ensure compliance with ITIL processes including incident, change, and configuration management. Document technical procedures and provide training/support to end users. Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience in desktop support and service desk operations. Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, Exchange, and Active Directory. Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems. Familiarity with ITIL best practices and change management processes. Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Certifications (Preferred):• ITIL v2 Certified• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
