Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated
School Social Worker
to join our team supporting K8 students. The ideal candidate will play a key role in promoting student well-being, academic success, and positive school culture through direct support, counseling, and collaboration with educators and families.
Responsibilities
Provide individual and group counseling to students in both general and special education settings.
Progress monitor and document IEP goals related to social work services; participate in IEP meetings.
Conduct psychosocial assessments to support eligibility determinations for special education services.
Perform functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and assist with developing and implementing behavior intervention plans.
Conduct risk assessments and provide crisis intervention as needed.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to design and implement strategies that promote academic and social-emotional success.
Connect students and families with community-based resources and social service supports.
Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in compliance with state and program requirements.
Offer consultation and professional development for staff regarding behavioral, emotional, and environmental factors that may impact student performance.
Qualifications
Masters degree in
Social Work
(MSW) required.
Valid
state-issued social work license
(Colorado) required.
Experience in a school-based or child-focused setting preferred.
Knowledge of special education processes, IEP development, and behavioral interventions strongly preferred.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with at-risk youth and diverse populations.
