Purpose of Position
The Product Data Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the product team with actionable insights derived from data. This individual will work closely with product managers, engineering, UX, and business stakeholders to measure product performance, identify trends, support feature development with evidence-based insights, and help shape strategic decisions through advanced analytics.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Product Analytics & Reporting
Design and maintain dashboards to track product KPIs, user engagement, feature adoption, and conversion metrics.
Develop data models to understand product usage patterns and customer behaviors.
Analysis & Insight Generation
Perform descriptive and diagnostic analyses to identify patterns, correlations, and opportunities.
Conduct ad-hoc analyses to answer business questions and support decision-making.
Build dashboards, reports, and self-service data tools for stakeholders.
Prioritizing high impact business opportunities
Business Collaboration
Partner with product managers, operations, and leadership to define KPIs and success metrics.
Translate complex data findings into plain-language recommendations.
Quality & Governance
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA if healthcare-related).
Document methodologies, data definitions, and workflows for repeatability.
Acts as a positive role model in all aspects of professional performance.
Observes safety procedures and personnel policies.
Marginal Functions

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Proficiency in SQL and at least one analytics language (Python, R, or similar).
Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar).
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Knowledge of statistical modeling or machine learning basics.
Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative analytics workflows.
Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills, question assumptions, and interpret complex datasets.
Flexible with rapidly changing requirements that focus on business impact, provide strategic insights and recommend future actions.
Demonstrate high communication skills with leadership and peers, ability to demonstrate communication skills in storytelling with data through visualizations and presentations.
Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate well with internal teams including engineering, product, and leadership to reflect influence and report on decisions with data.
Must exhibit strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.
Must be able to interact cordially and productively with co-workers.
Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
