The general pay scale for this position at MOH is $97,082-$131,104 per year. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc.
Scope
Directs the daily activities of accounting functions at the corporate office. Maintains responsibility for the preparation of monthly financial statements, maintenance of the corporate general ledger, accounts payable, payroll and employment taxes, and related accounting functions. Assists with financial analysis, budget preparation, and related financial duties as requested. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and review the monthly close of accounting books for all assigned practice areas, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP financial standards.
- Collaborate with Practice Controllers, accounting team and Corporate Accountants to gather necessary financial data and explanations, including revenue and expenses from all service lines.
- Prepare variance analysis for Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and detailed Cost Center P&L’s, with attention to business KPIs.
- Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial workpapers on a monthly basis.
- Review internal and external accounting management reports for accuracy, relevance, and alignment with practice performance indicators.
- Manage detailed research of GAAP issues as needed.
- Ensure accuracy of A/P invoice coding.
- Review all disbursements for appropriateness.
- Review amortization schedules on new debt.
- Provide the coding of the payment of monthly debt service.
- Serve as liaison with practice CPA’s representing the practice’s financial operations.
- Direct preparation of detailed analysis of accounts receivable.
- Lead and manage accounting department staff, fostering expertise in healthcare and financial operations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare regulations and financial compliance standards (e.g., CMS, HIPAA, OIG).
- Support strategic financial planning and budgeting for the business.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
- Minimum five years of accounting and financial reporting experience, with at least two years in a management role.
- Prior experience in public accounting and/or healthcare, preferably in Practice management.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, healthcare fiscal management,
- Proven ability to manage complex financial operations and lead accounting teams in a clinical environment.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
