OVERVIEW
The Bulk Dock Operator is responsible for unloading incoming sugar and molasses from rail cars.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate pay loader and forklifts.
- Move rail cars into and out of the building following established procedures and performing required checks.
- Install transition chutes and open rail cars involving heavy lifting up to 100 lbs.
- Clean out empty railcars using supplied tools.
- Clean up sugar spills that occur during performance of the job.
- Maintain cleanliness of bulk dock and 3rd floor sugar processing area.
- Inspect magnets and sifters daily.
- Vigilant for any product contamination and report any contamination or otherwise dangerous issues to shift supervisor or management.
- Accurately complete all department paperwork.
- Take samples from railcars for QC color analysis.
- Adhere to company dress and conduct policies.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Procedures in handling product and cleaning equipment.
- Assist in cleaning of the plant as required.
- Check daily non‑edible tote on 2nd floor and change as needed.
- Get railcar inventory from tracks 1 and 2 daily.
- Work effectively and maintain food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality.
- Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out‑of‑specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials to a designated manager.
- Assist in the plant when and where needed.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
WORK EXPERIENCES
- Prior packaging experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work 12‑hour shifts.
- 1‑2 years in an industrial manufacturing and/or warehouse environment preferred.
- Prior forklift or tow motor experience preferred; certification required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES
- Regular lifting and moving up to 50 lbs; vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Ability to work overtime, holidays and weekends as required.
COMPENSATION
- Hourly rate $19.03‑20.00/hour based on experience. Benefits include healthcare (medical, dental, vision, prescription drugs) available the first of the month following 30 days of employment, 401(k) with match, life insurance, AD&D, short‑term disability, vacation, holiday and sick time.
- 2nd Shift differential: $1.00/hr; 3rd Shift differential: $1.50/hr.
