What this job involves

As a Maintenance Electrician at JLL, you will play a vital role in shaping a brighter way for our clients by ensuring the electrical systems that power their operations run seamlessly and safely. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment and systems across commercial properties, working collaboratively with facility management teams to deliver exceptional service. This role embraces innovative ways of working while prioritizing safety and efficiency in all electrical maintenance activities.

What your day-to-day will look like

  • Install and repair electrical materials, equipment and machinery
  • Maintenance and repair of the following systems: Electrical Systems (UPS, Normal and Emergency Power), Fire Alarm Systems, Electrically Operated Overhead Doors and all lighting including outside site lighting, BAS and other low voltage cabling.
  • Inspect, isolate problems and repair defects in lighting, electrical wiring utilizing hand tools and electrical testing equipment. May require calculation of electrical loads and feeds.
  • Dismantle equipment/fixtures and plan systematic replacement or repair of accessories and parts and return equipment to operations.
  • Inspect completed electrical work for quality, safety and proper operation.
  • Coordinate maintenance work with other departments and divisions; maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
  • Perform preventative maintenance monthly assignments and complete in time appropriately.
  • Respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Monitors operation, adjusts, and maintains refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; boilers, and ventilating and hot water heaters; pumps, valves, piping and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment; record readings and make adjustments where necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Requires the ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required.
  • Assist with the installation and repair plumbing/piping/tubing; wire single and three phase motors (single & two speed); run conduit; pull wiring to machinery, motors, operating parts, etc.
  • Install and rebuild pumps and motors; install and rebuild air compressors; heat exchangers; replace bearings in all types of motors; replace seals on pumps; install and repair piping, valves, filters, hot water systems and associated controls; assist other mechanics and operators with major repairs and maintenance of building and equipment.
  • Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Familiar with LOTO and maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Take proper safety precautions and utilize appropriate safety gear/ equipment in the performance of all duties.
  • Run conduit; pull wiring to machinery, motors, operating parts, etc.
  • Willingness to change lightbulbs and ballasts as needed.
  • Ability to communicate and work in teams.
  • Any and all other duties and tasks assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma, state equivalent, or GED equivalent.
  • Clear understanding of how to troubleshoot electrical systems and the voltages that might be present.
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial electrical maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Physical ability to work in various conditions including confined spaces, at heights, and with heavy equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related trade schooling or equivalent.
  • Electrical and/or HVAC License.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Able to regularly lift items up to 50 lbs.
  • Physically able to operate electric hand tools, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, operate required equipment, and operate a motor vehicle.
  • Able to work in close places such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults, etc.
  • Able to work on ladders.
  • Able to work on roofs of buildings - able to safely perform overhead work while standing on a ladder.
  • Strong communication and organization skills.
  • Team player-works well with others.

85,000.00 - 105,000.00 USD per year
