The Human Resources Director is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for developing and executing strategic HR initiatives that align with the organization’s long-term goals. This role oversees all HR functions, including talent acquisition and retention, employee engagement, compliance, organizational development, performance management, compensation and benefits, and cultural initiatives.
The HR Director plays a critical role in shaping and sustaining a high-performing, inclusive, and legally compliant workplace. This position requires a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who can drive change, advise senior leadership, and build robust HR infrastructure to support growth.
Key Objectives
- Develop and lead a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with business goals and company culture.
- Refine and implement HR policies and systems to support operational excellence, legal compliance, and employee satisfaction.
- Lead and enhance total rewards programs, including compensation strategy, benefits administration, and performance-based incentives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on all human capital matters, including workforce planning, employee relations, and organizational development.
- Cultivate a positive, diverse, and inclusive workplace culture that attracts, retains, and develops top talent.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the HR department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Lead talent acquisition efforts, including workforce planning, recruitment strategy, employer branding, and succession planning.
- Oversee employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, engagement, performance management, and offboarding.
- Manage compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws (EEOC, OSHA, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, COBRA, etc.), and lead internal investigations as necessary.
- Guide and coach managers on effective performance management, team development, conflict resolution, and organizational change.
- Analyze and report on HR metrics to measure effectiveness, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
- Partner with finance and leadership teams to develop and manage salary structures, annual compensation reviews, and benefits strategies.
- Evaluate and improve HR systems, tools, and vendor relationships (e.g., ADP, benefits providers, etc.) to enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain up-to-date HR documentation, including handbooks, job descriptions, policies, and procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or HR certification preferred).
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or director-level role.
- Strong understanding of employment law, regulatory requirements, and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in building HR systems and programs in growing or fast-paced organizations.
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and influence at all levels of the organization.
- High ethical standards and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficient in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ADP is a plus.
- Experience negotiating Healthcare contracts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR).
- Experience leading HR in a multi-location or distributed workforce environment.
- Background in staffing or service-based industries is a plus.
