Job Summary
Licensed, certified PA with delegated prescriptive authority, credentialed and privileged. Provides direct patient care in specialty clinic and may work in inpatient, emergency, procedural settings.
Essential Functions
Assess physical and mental condition of patients through comprehensive physical exams and medical histories.
Order, collect, interpret diagnostic tests to diagnose and manage patient problems.
Prescribe, recommend, and employ therapeutic treatments per protocols with safety and cost consideration.
Formulate patient treatment plans based on evidence‑based medicine, professional guidelines, and collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team.
Counsel patients and families on medical processes, medication, nutrition, and health promotion.
Maintain accurate records of treatment plans and outcomes; initiate consultation/referral when scope exceeded.
Perform invasive procedures specific to scope of practice as delegated.
Manage patients in settings beyond primary clinic, including inpatient, emergency, procedural.
Key Success Factors
Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment principles for human injuries, diseases, and deformities.
Verbal and written communication, interpersonal, critical thinking skills.
Computer proficiency.
Current PA license in Texas, basic life support certification within 30 days, NCCPA certification.
