About the Opportunity A well-established, high-volume orthopedic practice in
Phoenix, AZ
is seeking a
fellowship-trained Total Joint Orthopedic Surgeon
to join its expanding surgical team. This role offers the rare opportunity to step into an existing patient panel from a retiring surgeon, providing immediate surgical volume and a strong referral base from day one.
This position is ideal for a surgeon seeking
clinical autonomy, professional stability, and long-term growth
in a private practice environment. You’ll focus primarily on
shoulder and elbow reconstruction , supported by a collaborative team and in-house services designed to streamline workflow and optimize patient outcomes.
Work Schedule & Setting
Clinic / OR Split:
2.5 days in clinic, 2 days in the operating room
Call Coverage:
Light weekday call; optional paid weekend trauma coverage available
Setting:
Outpatient orthopedic clinic and surgery center (no travel required)
Support Team:
Full physician assistant coverage for rounds, pre-op/post-op, and documentation
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary:
$300,000 – $400,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
Incentive Plan:
Additional income through a collections-based bonus structure

Core Responsibilities
Diagnose and manage shoulder and elbow conditions such as rotator cuff tears, fractures, arthritis, and instability
Perform both arthroscopic and open procedures, including total shoulder replacements and complex reconstructions
Collaborate with in-house rehabilitation providers for comprehensive treatment plans
Provide detailed pre- and post-operative patient education and care
Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR system
Participate in clinical meetings and ongoing quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
MD or DO with eligibility for
Arizona medical licensure
Completion of an
ACGME-accredited orthopedic surgery residency
Fellowship-trained
in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery
Board Certified or Board Eligible
through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS)
Ideal Candidate Profile
Skilled orthopedic surgeon with subspecialty training in shoulder and elbow procedures
Excellent diagnostic and surgical decision-making skills
Strong communicator with a patient-centered approach
