PAWSitive Veterinary of New York is a full-service, small animal practice in Brooklyn. We provide high-quality, comprehensive care including preventative medicine, wellness care, dentistry, in-house diagnostics, surgery, and more. Job Description This is a working supervisory position responsible for the leadership of the technician and assistant medical team as well as office administrative duties.

In addition to general Veterinary Technician responsibilities, duties include, but are not limited to:

Overseeing staff management, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations

Managing office operations, including inventory control, financial oversight, and compliance with regulations (e.g., DEA, OSHA)

Providing excellent customer service, addressing pet owners' inquiries and resolving complaints promptly

Coordinating with veterinary staff to ensure efficient clinic operations and high-quality patient care

Implementing and maintaining hospital policies and procedures

Marketing the hospital to prospective customers and the veterinary community

Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring proper use of veterinary terminology

Qualifications

A Licensed Veterinary Technician or Certified Veterinary Practice Manager with a minimum of 1-year of management experience preferred or 3+ years veterinary experience preferred

Strong leadership, communication, and motivation skills. Has the ability to direct, guide, and assist a group of individuals. A desire to teach others to create a well-rounded team.

Knowledge of hospital procedures for assembling patient records in their required order and sequence and for recording a variety of veterinary practitioners’ orders for patient activities, diet, tests, and treatments to maintain an accurate and permanent report of patient information.

Knowledge of spelling and meaning of commonly used veterinary terminology (e.g., terms of anatomy, physiology, diseases, tests, etc.) to accurately enter specific information into patient records.

Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Ability to show unbiased judgment when managing people and make fair and just recommendations regarding personnel issues and/or disciplinary action.

A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset.

Ability to receive constructive feedback in a professional manner to maintain hospital efficiency.

Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely.

A high work ethic and positive attitude team member.

Highly organized and possess computer skills.

Open availability with flexibility to change hours based on hospital’s needs.

Pay Range: $65,000 -$75,000 annual salary, negotiable based on experience level
