Job Overview Join our dynamic Tax team where strategic thinking meets operational excellence. As a Senior Manager, Tax, you’ll lead a high-performing group responsible for delivering accurate and timely tax provision reporting in accordance with ASC 740. Our team drives the quarterly and annual tax accounting close process while ensuring compliance across federal, state, local, and international jurisdictions—including foreign GAAP filings.
Role Responsibilities
Lead the completion of quarterly and annual tax provision in accordance with ASC 740
Drive the tax accounting close process and timely data gathering and reporting
Oversee federal, state, local, and international tax filings including foreign GAAP returns
Complete tax projects such as R&D tax credit, Section 174, Section 382 analyses
Prepare forecasted income taxes and cash tax payment analysis
Manage income tax audits and respond to notices from tax authorities
Assist with implementation of transfer pricing, tax planning and optimization strategies
Collaborate with teams across the business to improve systems and processes
Champion tax transparency across the organization and work closely with leadership
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA-licensed and/or MST in Tax
6+ years of related experience in public accounting or the internal tax department of a US multi‑state corporation
Strong technical knowledge of ASC 740, SEC disclosure standards, and US GAAP
Strong knowledge of US and international sales and use tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to apply rules to practical scenarios
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
High ethical standards and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity
Experience with taxation of SaaS
Workday experience (or other large ERP system experience) and Avalara
Compensation Relativity is committed to competitive, fair, and equitable compensation practices. This position is eligible for total compensation that includes a competitive base salary, an annual performance bonus, and long‑term incentives. The expected salary range for this role is $139,000 to $209,000. The final offered salary will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity.
