Senior Accountant Salary range: 75,000.00 – 85,000.00

per year . Pay varies based on location, experience, and education. Eligible for annual discretionary cash bonus target 10% and restricted stock units target 10%.

About This Job Axos is seeking a Senior Accountant II responsible for preparing journal entries, maintaining the company’s general ledger, and managing third‑party transactions. This role supports SOX program controls, performs ad‑hoc accounting tasks, internal controls, regulatory compliance, technical research, accrual analysis, and reconciliations. The position involves leading projects, reviewing work, and training peers and staff.

Responsibilities

Maintain records of organization’s financial activity in accordance with GAAP, organizational standards, and Sarbanes‑Oxley Section 404.

Create reports on financial performance for internal and external use.

Complete month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing activities related to foreign exchange, cash management, and tax, including preparing audit work papers.

Ensure accuracy, validity, and completeness of all documentation necessary to meet regulatory requirements.

Participate in and lead cross‑functional meetings.

Prepare and present reports to management.

Research technical accounting issues and propose alternatives.

Advanced knowledge of operational systems.

Create audit‑support materials, presentations to auditors and executive management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in financial services or regulated industry.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls.

Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Ability to analyze complex accounting issues and provide alternative solutions.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
