Job Overview The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for providing the safest possible environment for employees and the highest level of service for customers. In this hands‑on role, the manager leads efforts to support operations by implementing and sustaining Lean Six Sigma processes aimed at improving safety, order accuracy, quality, labor utilization, layout optimization, and operating costs for existing and new products. The position also includes leadership of strategic initiatives such as warehouse management system (WMS) updates, storage enhancements, and automation improvements. Frequent communication with departments such as Human Resources, Sales, IT, Customer Service, and Manufacturing is required.

Day In The Life

Drive Lean principles and culture with energy and enthusiasm, functioning as a leader and champion of change.

Assume leadership in optimizing and customizing features and configurations of the warehouse management system.

Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive training program.

Maintain and support a superior 6S program, including timely communication of new safety initiatives.

Train and implement a lean toolkit including PDCA, value stream mapping, visual controls, Kaizen, and total employee involvement.

Lead the distribution center in designing and analyzing operational solutions for projects such as storage and automation design, process improvements, cost reduction, capacity enhancement, and warehouse optimization.

Educate, coach, and mentor employees at all levels to establish an engaged Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence culture.

Facilitate Kaizen events to drive continuous improvement, including joint events with customers, suppliers, and corporate staff.

What Will Help You Thrive in This Role?

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (BS) in Industrial or Logistics Engineering is highly preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of prior experience working in an engineering role within a distribution environment.

Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience within distribution and/or manufacturing.

Successful project management experience (initiate, plan, execute, monitor & control, closeout).

Experience with layout development and specification and procurement of storage and material handling equipment.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.

Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD.

Warehouse Management System expertise required; SAP-EWM highly desirable.
