Technical Product Development Engineer Now Hiring: Technical Product Development Engineer (Full-Time, On-Site – Torrance, CA)

PEC Tools, a Made in USA precision tool manufacturer, is seeking someone with hands‑on CNC experience who understands both design and production. Proficiency in G‑code programming, CAD/CAM (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Mastercam), and machining processes is essential. You should be comfortable reading drawings, setting up machines, and optimizing manufacturing steps for accuracy and efficiency. A detail‑oriented, problem‑solving mindset is key — and if you speak Spanish, that’s a plus!

What You’ll Do

Develop and document manufacturing process plans based on new and existing product designs.

Create and interpret technical sketches and engineering drawings to support production.

Program and set up CNC machines (G‑code) for prototype and production runs.

Determine the most efficient machining sequence, tools, and fixtures for each product.

Work closely with the Production Manager and shop team to ensure precision, repeatability, and quality in every build.

Troubleshoot and refine manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and consistency.

Who You Are

A technically skilled engineer or machinist with a strong understanding of CNC programming, setup, and operation.

Experienced in manufacturing or product engineering, or a recent graduate with hands‑on machining experience and strong problem‑solving skills.

Able to communicate clearly with production staff and management.

English required; Spanish a plus.

U.S. work authorization preferred, but citizenship not required.

Preferred Skills

Proficiency in CNC programming and setup (G‑code, M‑code, Haas or Fanuc controls).

Experience with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Mastercam.

Strong understanding of manufacturing process design, from raw material to finished part.

Familiarity with machining operations (milling, turning, grinding) and fixture/tooling setup.

Knowledge of precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges) and basic GD&T principles.

Ability to read, interpret, and produce engineering drawings and process documentation.

Hands‑on experience validating setups and process changes in a production environment.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
