Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated, energetic, team-orientated individual with a bachelor’s degree and certification in Athletic Training (ATC) from the NATA to work as an active member of a team to cover local sports through our community outreach and Santa Clara Unified School District high school programs. Competitive salary is negotiable based on experience.
Responsibilities
Game supervision
Injury evaluation, care, prevention, and rehabilitation of student-athletes
Supervision and coordination of student athletic trainers, interns or Sports PT Residents
Maintenance and supervision of clinic and training room
Order, maintain and distribute supplies for team medical/ATC kits
Communicate with doctors, coaches and parents regarding injured athletes
Responsibility/Authority to restrict participation of an athlete for medical reasons
Keep records of daily treatments and injury reports
Travel with teams required
Qualifications
20-38 hours of top level patient care and management per week
Progress Letters, Daily chart notes, backing up patient letter files once every quarter
Communication with MDs, DOs, DPMs, coaches, visiting team trainers
Management of LGOST-PT Student Intern Sports Medicine program
Continuing education for professional development
Inservice and educational training for other therapists
Maintain current licensure, certifications and personal policy of liability insurance
Confirm DATES AND ARRIVAL TIMES for covering events
Recommend arrival 45-60 minutes prior to start of event unless otherwise specified by Athletic Director or main point of contact
Introduce yourself to AD, coaches, officials/referees & visiting team Athletic Trainer prior to start of event
Emergency Action Planning
Field/school contact for activating EMS
Directions/address for EMS
Route to injured athlete/field access
