Employment Details: Full time, Shift: 12 Hour Day Shift.

What You’ll Do The OB Surgical Tech assists the surgical team during operative procedures. As a surgical team member under direct supervision of the circulating RN, the tech provides pre-operative and intra-operative patient care. Demonstrates knowledge of use and care of all surgical instruments both intra-operatively and post-operatively. Demonstrates knowledge of all surgical electrical equipment as it pertains to optimum working order. Prepares for surgical procedures by turning over the room and assessing equipment/set-up needs for the next scheduled case. Demonstrates proper scrub technique, gowning and gloving of self and other surgical team members. Demonstrates proper draping technique with appropriate back table and mayo stand set up. Knowledge of name and function of instruments and demonstrates proper care of instruments, intra-operatively and post-operatively. Attentiveness to the surgical team and anticipates the next need of the surgeon. Demonstrates proper counting of sponges, instruments and sharps as well as demonstrates continuous awareness of the location of sponges, instruments and sharps on the surgical field. Demonstrates accurate care and handling of specimens. Demonstrates and practices universal precautions at all times. Appropriately orders and stocks supplies for the L&D Operating Room and L&D unit. Prepares birthing rooms for anticipated vaginal deliveries.

What You’ll Need for This Job Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education. Preferred: Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology. Minimum Experience Required: Less than one year of previous job‑related experience. Preferred: 1‑2 years of previous job‑related experience. Licensure/Certifications Required: CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist.

Compensation Pay Range: $24.44 - $39.11 per hour.

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
