Job Title: Sr Data Developer
Location: Wilmington, DE 19803
Job Type: Contract to Hire (On-Site)
Pay Range: $65,000 to $70,000 annually
Job Description BCforward is seeking a highly motivated Sr Data Developer to join our team in Wilmington, DE. This role will focus on building and maintaining robust data pipelines and analytics solutions in an AWS cloud environment.
Responsibilities
Develop extensive, secure, and high‑quality production code in Python and/or Java.
Design, build, and maintain PySpark/Java Spark ETL and streaming pipelines.
Leverage AWS services (SQS, Lambda, S3, RDS) to support data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
Review, debug, and refactor code written by others to improve performance and reliability.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations.
Qualifications
7+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training or certification in computer science.
Advanced proficiency in Python or Java.
Strong experience in PySpark, Java Spark, and streaming ETL pipelines.
Hands‑on experience with AWS services such as SQS, Lambda, S3, and RDS.
Solid understanding of secure coding practices and code review processes.
Nice to have
Experience with shell scripting and Unix systems.
Proficiency in using Terraform for infrastructure management.
Familiarity with modern LLM techniques and practical LLM use‑case development using OpenAI or Azure.
Experience
Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with over 7+ years of applied experience.
Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
