We are seeking a skilled

Kafka and Active MQ Administrator

to manage, configure, and optimize enterprise messaging systems. The role involves provisioning and scaling Kafka clusters, managing Active MQ infrastructure, ensuring secure and efficient operations, and supporting development teams. This position requires on‑call production support for critical issues and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to deliver seamless messaging solutions.

Location: Must be located within commuting distance of Hartford, CT; Indianapolis, IN; Phoenix, AZ; Providence, RI; Raleigh, NC; Richardson, TX; Scottsdale, AZ; Tempe, AZ, or willing to relocate. Travel to project locations may be required.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required. Will also consider three years of relevant work experience in lieu of every year of education.

At least 4 years of experience with Information Technology.

Strong experience in Kafka administration, including provisioning, scaling, and monitoring Kafka clusters.

Expertise in managing Kafka topics, partitions, ACLs, and schema registry.

Hands‑on experience with Active MQ setup, queue/topic management, and troubleshooting.

Proficiency in configuring SSL encryption, SASL authentication, RBAC, and ACLs.

Experience with Confluent Cloud on Azure.

Strong troubleshooting skills for production issues in Kafka and Active MQ environments.

Candidate should work as per the PST time zone.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in monitoring broker health, analyzing logs, and setting up alerts for Kafka and Active MQ.

Knowledge of creating and managing Kafka connectors (e.g., ADLS, Salesforce, Azure Blob, Microsoft SQL).

Proficiency in defining and evolving Avro/JSON schemas using schema registry.

Familiarity with supporting development teams using JMS, STOMP, or MQTT clients.

Experience with configuring and managing Dead Letter Queues (DLQs) in Active MQ.

Familiarity with performance optimization for Kafka and Active MQ clusters.

Knowledge of persistence storage configuration (e.g., KahaDB) and performance tuning.

Experience in on‑call production support.

Ability to collaborate with development teams to design and optimize producer/consumer applications.

Ability to work in a team in a diverse/multiple stakeholder environment.

Experience in Healthcare domain would be good to have.

Analytical skills.

Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment.
