Interior Designer Base pay range: $70,000 – $75,000 per year.

Location: Dallas, TX and surrounding areas.

Reports to: Team Lead – Interior Designer.

Job type: Full‑time (Exempt).

Summary of Position The Meteor Education Interior Designer supports the sales effort by applying design expertise to create layouts that facilitate impactful learning for K‑12 clients. The role follows the Meteor Core Process—Discovery, Create, Plan, Execute, Sustain—and collaborates with a regional Studio team, including Managing Director, Sales, Instructional Design, Project Coordination, and Project Management, throughout the client journey.

Essential Responsibilities

Attend project programming meetings in person or via Zoom with salesperson, educational specialist, and client to determine project scope.

Collaborate with salesperson and educational specialist to strategize on addressing client needs.

Develop conceptual design solutions based on information gathered during intake meetings.

Create and present visual presentations—including 2D drawings, 3D renderings, and furniture specifications—using Meteor software platforms.

Specify furniture, finishes, and custom items using design and quoting software across multiple manufacturers.

Work within budget constraints and timelines, recommending product solutions in collaboration with salesperson and client.

Conduct specification reviews and develop installation documents for each project.

Communicate effectively when presenting to customers and team members.

Elevate product knowledge and application by researching K‑12 and higher education design, product options from 100+ manufacturers, and industry trends.

Adhere to the Meteor Core Process and Design Drawing and Process standards.

Apply knowledge of ADA, Life Safety, Fire, and Electrical codes.

Attend in‑person Studio activities, scheduled meetings, and training; build strong relationships with Studio team members.

Travel to client meetings, company events, and onboarding locations, including Gainesville, FL, and functional training sites.

Work remotely where appropriate.

Requirements

3–5+ years’ experience, preferably in a similar industry.

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Interior Design required.

Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit or CET, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience generating drawings and specifying furniture.

Some experience working with architects and trades helpful.

Experience presenting to educational and architectural clients.

Exceptional ethical and professional standards; full cultural alignment with the company values.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Understanding of design principles.

Reside in the geographical area covered by the job posting.
