Position Overview The Associate Software Engineer–Developer will join the CITS Software team located at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City, OK. This position supports the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization, focusing on the development and delivery of innovative software solutions for the B-1 Bomber within an agile software development environment.
Responsibilities
Assist with the design, development, test, and maintenance of non‑embedded software across the end‑to‑end lifecycle.
Support agile teams tasked with integrating and implementing solutions onto a platform.
Develop high‑fidelity simulation and environment software and tool sets.
Use analytical problem‑solving skills to resolve problems for the company and suppliers.
Apply engineering knowledge to continuously improve processes and tools.
Gather information to review, analyze, and translate customer requirements into initial design of software products.
Assist with the development, maintenance, and optimization of software products and functionalities for systems integrations.
Assist with debugging and resolution of issues to ensure reliability and efficiency.
Participate in handling user inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues, and user feedback analysis.
Assist with implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes.
Assist in developing, establishing, monitoring, and improving software processes, tools, and key performance metrics.
Provide information to execute and document software research and development projects.
Track and evaluate software team and supplier performance to ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards.
Qualifications
Experience developing and using C++, C, Ada, or C#.
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
2 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience developing embedded real‑time software and hardware.
Experience working with Real‑time Operating Systems (RTOS).
Experience developing models and simulations.
Experience with Agile software development and modern tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Git, and Bitbucket.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with stakeholders of different backgrounds and skill levels.
Security Clearance Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance (Post‑Start). U.S. citizenship is required.
Location & Shift 100% onsite at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma City, OK. 1st shift.
Relocation Relocation based on candidate eligibility.
