Overview The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) jointly with the IU Health Medical Group (IUHMG) is seeking a dynamic, forward‑thinking, team‑oriented individual to join our Division of Molecular Pathology. The Division performs molecular testing for the IU Health system of 16 hospitals covering the state of Indiana and for numerous outreach clients. This position will focus on molecular pathology diagnostics including next generation sequencing for hematolymphoid and solid tumors, PCR‑based testing and FISH, and engage in system‑wide genomics programs such as the Precision Health Initiative. Leadership opportunities will be available for qualified individuals.
Responsibilities
Provide sign‑out of somatic next generation sequencing testing, PCR‑based assays and fluorescent in situ hybridization
Participate in test development and advancements in the Division of Molecular Pathology
Pursue clinical and translational research
Actively participate in educational activities including ACGME‑accredited and non‑accredited trainees
Ideal Candidate
Is academically oriented
Will take advantage of outstanding opportunities for clinical, translational and collaborative research
Engage in academic teaching and mentoring of trainees
Interest or board certification/eligibility in molecular pathology is welcome but not required
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate or terminal degree is required
Must be certified by the American Board of Pathology in Molecular Genetic Pathology (ABMGG) or in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics
Applicants must be qualified for licensure in the state of Indiana
