Basic cleaning skills and minimal experience in a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly Qualifications
Cleaning or housekeeping experience preferred Must be able to stand, walk, or move constantly and navigate the facility, including resident rooms, common areas, and outdoor locations Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds frequently, such as carrying linens and lifting small objects for cleaning supplies Must be able to push and pull carts with supplies of over 50 pounds occasionally Bending, squatting, and kneeling frequently; twisting of neck and waist occasionally Must undergo a Physical exam and Tuberculosis Screening, resulting in a negative TB diagnosis prior to employment Must obtain clearance or exemption approval from the Department of Social Services following FBI and DOJ lifescans and background check prior to employment Must read, understand and sign the Report of Suspected Physical Abuse of a Dependent Elder (SOC341A) Responsibilities
Perform routine cleaning duties including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces in resident rooms and bathrooms; change bed linens and towels for residents Assist in monitoring and maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting needs to the Housekeeping Supervisor Follow all health and safety protocols to maintain a safe environment, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals Maintain effective communication with residents, staff, and visitors, providing assistance as needed while respecting residents’ privacy and confidentiality Participate in special cleaning projects and deep cleaning tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, including minorities, women, veterans, and disabled individuals.
