Bowman has an opportunity for an AI Solutions Engineer to join our team in Reston, VA. Purpose
The AI Solutions Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing AI-powered solutions that enhance business operations, automate tasks, and unlock new capabilities across internal and external products. This role drives the organization’s AI strategy from concept through deployment by creating intelligent, scalable tools that streamline workflows, improve decision‑making, and deliver measurable impact. The engineer collaborates across teams to identify high‑value use cases, design practical implementations, and integrate advanced technologies into the company’s digital ecosystem. Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to assess use cases, define requirements, and translate business needs into AI‑driven solutions. Advocate for responsible AI practices and contribute to governance around AI adoption. Partner with Product, Innovation, Business Systems, and Infrastructure teams to integrate AI into enterprise platforms and digital products. Promote awareness of AI capabilities and drive adoption through prototypes, demos, and internal engagement. Participate in company‑wide initiatives that leverage AI for operational optimization, cost savings, and revenue growth. Contribute to knowledge sharing, documentation, and the development of best practices related to AI use and deployment. Provide technical consultation to business units on how to apply AI to solve unique challenges. Design, develop, and implement AI and ML solutions for internal operations and external products, including AI‑powered assistants, chatbots, predictive tools, and classification models. Integrate APIs from commercial AI tools (e.g., OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI services) into enterprise platforms, services, and workflows. Develop scripts, pipelines, and applications that apply natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, and other AI techniques to business data. Collaborate with data scientists to operationalize models and drive business impact through deployed AI solutions. Prototype and test AI use cases, evaluate feasibility, and iterate based on user feedback and performance. Ensure AI solutions are reliable, secure, and aligned with ethical and compliance standards. Track performance metrics and usage data to evaluate the effectiveness of deployed tools. Document system design, implementation details, and user guidance to support scalability and adoption. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in software engineering, data science, or AI/ML development. Hands‑on experience with AI tools, frameworks, and APIs (e.g., OpenAI, LangChain, Azure AI, TensorFlow, PyTorch). Proficiency in Python and data engineering tools. Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, and large language models. Experience integrating AI into business applications, web services, or enterprise platforms.
