Travel Perfusionist – Contract Opportunity (Hartford, Connecticut) Are you an experienced Perfusionist looking for an exciting travel assignment in Connecticut? We’re seeking a skilled professional to join a dedicated cardiac team providing advanced perfusion support across a variety of clinical settings.
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Shift: 8-hour PM shifts with rotating call (including weekends and holidays)
Call Requirement: 30-minute response time; 24-hour call shifts (0600–0600)
Rotation: 13-person schedule including morning, afternoon, and call shifts
Compensation
Travel Pay Package: $5,100–$5,300 per week (hourly rate plus stipends)
Local Pay Rate: $95–$110/hour (no travel stipends)
Requirements
2 years of experience as a licensed Perfusionist
Current State of Connecticut Perfusion License
ABCP Certification
BLS Certification
Responsibilities
Provide perfusion support for elective and emergent adult open-heart procedures including CABG, AVR, MVR, aortic repairs, AngioVac, heart transplants, ECMO, and acute VADs
Support non-cardiac procedures such as liver transplants, HIPEC, ECMO (VV), and autologous blood recovery
Manage cardiac support devices including IABP, Impella (CP, 5.5, RP Flex), ProTek Duo, ECMO (VA), CentriMag, and HeartMate 3
Safely operate heart/lung machines and accessory equipment in accordance with departmental guidelines
Administer medications, blood products, and anesthetic agents under physician supervision
Perform routine equipment maintenance, documentation, and therapy adjustments
Maintain proficiency with accessory equipment and participate in policy development, quality improvement, and staff education initiatives
Ideal Candidate
Demonstrates strong technical skills and attention to detail in high-acuity environments
Works collaboratively with surgical and critical care teams
Adapts well to a rotating schedule and call responsibilities
Maintains professionalism, communication, and composure under pressure
