The Director of Supply Chain (Shared Services) provides enterprise-wide leadership for supply chain operations, including demand planning, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and logistics. This role is responsible for building scalable processes, driving service excellence, reducing cost, and improving working capital across all company affiliates. The Director will standardize policies and systems, ensuring operational alignment across the business while partnering closely with the Director of Fleet to optimize transportation efficiency, uptime, and compliance.
Essential Duties of Position
Establish and govern shared services supply chain policies, standards, and SLAs
Develop and execute strategies that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service
Lead demand planning and S&OP processes to ensure accurate forecasts
Define stocking strategies, optimize inventory levels, and reduce excess/obsolete stock
Develop procurement strategies, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships
Standardize warehousing operations and WMS processes; drive OTIF, accuracy, and cost per order
Oversee logistics and TMS standards to ensure routing efficiency and delivery performance
Partner with the Director – Fleet on DOT/FMCSA compliance, telematics, and asset utilization
Maintain ISO compliance, close OFIs on time, and ensure audit readiness
Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing supply chain team while reinforcing company values
Any other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, operations management, business administration, or related field (required); MBA or professional certification (CSCP, CPSM, CPIM, CLTD) (preferred)
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain: procurement, inventory, warehousing, logistics, etc. (required)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed
Proven track record in S&OP, cost optimization, and working capital improvement
Strong negotiation skills with vendors and carriers; deep knowledge of compliance requirements (ISO, DOT, FMCSA)
ERP/MRP, WMS, and TMS system expertise; experience with analytics/BI tools strongly preferred
Excellent leadership, communication, and change management skills to drive operational and cultural excellence
