Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Own the full lifecycle of the Credit Union’s product portfolio—including deposits, loans, and related services—ensuring offerings remain competitive, profitable, and strategically aligned.
Continuously monitor product performance using key metrics and insights, proactively identifying opportunities, gaps, or positioning adjustments to improve outcomes.
Present complex research findings and make recommendations to senior leaders, helping facilitate long‑term product strategy planning.
Develop and execute the strategic product roadmap, balancing new development with enhancements to existing products.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Managers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
Partner with Business Insights to leverage data and research in product evaluation, profitability analysis, and opportunity identification.
Collaborate with Marketing and Digital teams to design go‑to‑market strategies, adoption campaigns, and communications for product changes and launches.
Work closely with business analysts and IT to ensure product design is feasible within core banking, loan origination, and deposit account systems.
Partner with Compliance, Risk, and Legal to ensure product development and changes meet regulatory and policy requirements.
Benchmark against peer financial institutions to identify and apply best practices and innovations.
Develop and manage departmental budgets and resources effectively.
Participate in the planning and implementation of new key corporate initiatives.
Ensure the member’s voice is incorporated into the design, implementation, and testing of applications and products.
Other Duties And Responsibilities
Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Credit Union business applications, processes, and supporting technologies, with awareness of financial product trends and industry interoperability.
Apply a strong understanding of accounting practices, financial statements, and compliance requirements within financial services.
Lead project planning, management techniques, and business process analysis.
Communicate clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing, and build strong collaborative relationships across diverse teams.
Analyze complex issues, interpret findings, and recommend solutions aligned with policy, regulation, and best practices.
Coach, motivate, and develop employees to build and sustain high‑performing teams.
Utilize advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and related PC tools.
Maintain a detail‑oriented approach with high accountability while managing multiple priorities independently.
Adapt effectively to shifting resources, priorities, and evolving business needs.
Deliver excellent service and support to both internal and external members.
Physical Requirements
Occasional standing, walking, bending, and stooping required.
Must be able to sit at a desk for moderate periods of time and use a computer.
Must be able to moderately lift or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds.
Education and Background
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of product management or strategy experience, ideally in financial services, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity managing product managers required.
Proven ability to develop and execute product roadmaps that deliver measurable growth and profitability.
Demonstrated success in launching new products and enhancing existing portfolios to meet evolving member or customer needs.
Experience partnering with technical product development, IT, or business analyst teams strongly preferred.
