Job Description In this role you will work under the guidance of experienced bridge engineers performing analysis and design of bridge and other transportation‑related structures. The position offers a diverse range of projects, technical challenges and career development opportunities.

Responsibilities

Preparation and checking of design calculations for bridges and other transportation‑related structures.

Load rating of existing bridges.

Preparation of construction drawings, including plans, structural sections and details.

Preparation of quantity calculations and construction cost estimates.

Preparation of reports and technical specifications.

Shop drawing review and design services during construction.

Visual survey and structural observations of existing bridge structures for rehabilitations/repair projects.

Coordination with other in‑house engineering disciplines as needed.

Collection and analysis of data under supervision of an experienced engineer.

Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering.

Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification.

Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenBridge, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and similar software.

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.

Detail‑oriented with strong skills in structural analysis, steel and concrete design and teamwork.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good time management and a strong work ethic.

Familiarity with AASHTO codes and bridge engineering practices.

This position requires a hybrid work schedule, including in‑office work in the Massachusetts office on a scheduled basis.

Compensation Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 per year.
