About The Role Seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with 4-7 years experience at high-caliber tech firms, expertise in backend technologies, and interest in fintech. Location: New York, hybrid flexible.

The role of Backend Engineer (Senior) at Bastion involves designing resilient systems and APIs from scratch, with expertise in backend technologies, databases, and cloud platforms. Familiarity with Go or Rust is a bonus, though not required. The position requires significant open-source contributions and the ability to prioritize and deliver effectively. Candidates should possess traits such as optimism, a growth mindset, effectiveness, and comfort with ambiguity, and be able to decide between "good enough" and perfect under pressure. The role is based in New York with hybrid flexibility, and exceptional remote candidates may be considered. The company supports visa transfers, including H1B, and offers relocation assistance via a sign-on bonus. The hiring process is urgent, with a timeline described as "extreme urgency."
