Job Summary and Qualifications GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Primary responsibilities of the Division Director of Laboratory Services revolve around collaborating with Service Line leadership to assess, consult, and direct quality and cost‑effective laboratory operations across HCA facilities.
Responsibilities
Coordinate with Service Line leadership to assess and consult for Division and Facility leadership.
Direct activities in one or more HCA Hospitals on matters related to the provision of quality, efficient and cost‑effective services.
Implement strategies to collaborate with team members.
Execute operational assessments and manage multiple concurrent engagements, including financial analysis, budgeting and billing analyses.
Maintain relationships with key stakeholders across Laboratory, Supply Chain and Performance Improvement.
Communicate regularly at required intervals to Service Line leadership, Division Presidents, CFOs and hospital CEOs.
Ensure internal approvals before executing recommendations.
Duties (Partial)
Support Laboratory Service Line in executing opportunities in the assigned division.
Implement laboratory test ordering, facility test menu, equipment platform formularies.
Centralize laboratory services and optimize market‑based contracting.
Handle reference testing vendor selection, utilization and sale profitability assessment.
Guarantee billing compliance, charge capture and quality operations.
Ne recur regulatory accreditation for laboratory readiness.
Maintain strong collaborative relationships across HCA and external partners.
Lead the development and training of high‑functioning laboratory directors.
Stay updated on legislative and regulatory changes affecting laboratory services.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Laboratory Science (required).
Master’s or higher in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field (preferred).
Professional laboratory organization membership (required).
Minimum 5+ years of laboratory experience at a director level or laboratory consulting.
Familiarity with healthcare financial management, reimbursement issues and clinical operations.
Fully vaccinated for COVID‑19 as per local, state or federal regulations (unless exempt).
