Overview

The Home Lending Officer role is a developing professional role at Citi that focuses on originating high‑quality residential real estate loans. This role engages internally with retail branch partners, operations, community business development officers and drives mortgage sales through engagement with clients and referral partners. Responsibilities

Consult with customers about their financial situation, personal objectives and lending needs to help them achieve home ownership goals. Collect and analyze information about customers’ financial situation, goals, risk tolerance, future plans, income, assets, debts, cash flow and credit history. Analyze financial information to make an initial assessment of qualifying customers and properties for lending solutions. Make recommendations to customers about lending solutions that best meet their financial and personal objectives. Advise customers about the consequences, risks and benefits of alternative lending solutions. Promote Citi’s brand and lending solutions to real estate agencies, builders and other referral sources. Visit customers outside of Citi’s offices as required by client, geography and market conditions. Work as a team with internal partners to support and grow customers. Refer customers seeking financial services other than lending solutions to appropriate Citi professionals. Partner with Operations teams to ensure seamless transfer of loan applications and provide documents to Processors and Underwriters. Work with Processors/Closers and customers to ensure timely closing of customers’ loans. Maintain relationships with Realtors, CPAs, Builders and other referral partners to drive mortgage business into the bank. Introduce clients to segment partners when appropriate (Bank, Wealth Management, Small Business, Cards, etc.). Keep abreast of local marketplace trends, rules and regulations and expand internal and external network to serve clients and industry professionals. Appropriately assess risk, uphold compliance and demonstrate sound ethical judgment in all business decisions. Qualifications

2‑5 years relevant experience. 3+ years previous mortgage sales experience. Residential mortgage experience. Established book of business. Proven product sales capability. FHA/VA & conventional loan experience preferred. Ability to comprehend and explain financial calculations and pricing alternatives. Ability to communicate with customers about required documents for a particular loan. Knowledge of consumer lending laws, fair lending, privacy and RESPA. Demonstrated customer service skills. Strong relationship development and management skills. Expertise in general lending products and overall mortgage industry. Required to register as a mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry and obtain a unique identifier before engaging in mortgage loan originator activities. Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent university experience. Benefits
