Summary of Position
The Helper/Packager is responsible for operation of equipmentused in the packaging of products at Peak Machining Group, Inc.
Responsibilities and Duties
Typical duties and responsibilities expected of theHelper/Packager include:
Safely drive forklift and operate crane to pull and move coilsand skids within warehouse. Operate packing line conveyor to transfer coils from slitterto the banding station. Band and package material for shipping according to customerrequirements. Assemble skids and other shipping containers as needed. Measure dimensions and gauge material with micrometer. Confirm material specifications on inventory tags for ordersbeing shipped. Stage material for shipping according to bill of ladings. Generate inventory tags to be placed on material beingreceived. Enter inventory tag data into computer system. Obtain appropriate signatures on bills of lading. Use precision when operating tools such as tape measures,micrometers, nibblers and calipers. Maintain shipping supplies. Keep immediate work area clean and organized throughout theday. Adhere to all company safety rules, regulations, and qualitystandards. Adhere to all company handbook policies and procedures. These duties are notexhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent Computer skills necessary Good written and oral communication skills Good reading and math skills Good organizational, problem solving, and time managementskills Ability to measure using different tools Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as toaccept direction Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relationswith co-workers, customers, and suppliers Strong work ethic; self-motivated Preferred Qualifications
