Job Description The Automation Engineer will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining safe and reliable control software for industrial machinery. This includes PLC programming, HMI development, VFD parametrization, and industrial networking. This role is critical to setting the standard for the form, fit, and function of machine control software and will contribute directly to the innovation, safety, and performance of our products.

Responsibilities

Develop, test, and maintain control software for industrial machinery.

Engage in PLC programming and HMI development.

Parametrize VFDs and ensure industrial networking is robust.

Set standards for the form, fit, and function of machine control software.

Contribute to the innovation, safety, and performance of industrial products.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in Siemens PLC programming (TIA Portal).

Proficiency in Rockwell PLC programming (Studio 5000).

Experience with AVEVA InTouch HMI configuration.

Experience with large motors and VFDs (≥600kW) including commissioning and parameter setup.

Strong knowledge of safety standards and industrial control systems design.

Familiarity with communication protocols and industrial networking.

Experience conducting FATs and troubleshooting control logic in live environments.

Knowledge of automation systems including instrumentation (analog and digital), Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems including programming, startup, and troubleshooting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.

3+ years of experience in automation engineering for industrial machinery, preferably in plastics or heavy equipment industries.

Job Type & Location Permanent position based out of Ansonia, Connecticut.

Pay And Benefits Pay range: $90,000 - $110,000 per year.
