Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced UPS Field Service Engineer to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a self-motivated and results-driven professional to contribute to our rapidly growing organization. As a UPS Field Service Engineer, you will work at the forefront of power technology, utilizing your skills and experience in UPS, power distribution units, and power systems maintenance. You will play a pivotal role in providing technical support to our customers, ensuring the highest level of service and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
As a field service engineer you will be responsible for the following duties:
Responsible for commissioning, maintaining and providing emergency support on power electronics at customers’ sites within their respective regional coverage area.
Render technical on-site and phone assistance to customers
Perform general and preventive maintenance on Uninterruptable Power Supply systems.
Provide analysis, troubleshooting recommendations, and escalated technical support.
Respond to emergency calls at customer’s request
Strive to provide all customers a 'first time fix' for their equipment
Provide accurate and timely communication to internal and external customers
Keep current on Safety Field Change Notices and Service Tips
Provide accurate and timely reporting of expense reports, Field Service Reports etc.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Technical Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent military training
3-5+ years of experience in this field and ability to troubleshoot down to component level on equipment such as UPS, batteries, PDU’s / Power Distribution Units, Static Automatic Transfer Switches, Branch Circuit Monitoring, and other electrical equipment
Previous military experience and training a plus
Working knowledge of OHM's law and electronic theory required
Prior field service experience required
3 phase/480v experience required
Familiarity with electrical/electronic test equipment and fundamentals
Ability to read and interpret electrical line diagrams and blueprints
Ability to evaluate the operating conditions of equipment
Standard computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
Mechanical aptitude
Clear, concise, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interact comfortably with all levels of internal and external customers
Must have the ability and self-motivation to manage one's own schedule
UPS OEM factory training or experience in Liebert (Vertiv) / Emerson, APC / MGE, or Eaton / Power ware, Toshiba, Mitsubishi a plus
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds for short durations.
Ability to kneel or crouch periodically.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to travel for multiple days either by car or flight as projects require
Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining 100% safety awareness.
Lifting heavy objects and stretching above your head.
Willingness to travel at least 80% of the time locally or regional depending on client
