Role Overview The Los Angeles County Office of Education is looking for an individual skilled in financial forecasting and budgetary analysis to fill the Budget Analyst position for our Technology Services (TS) Department.
Under general direction, the Budget Analyst plans, organizes, and coordinates activities related to the compilation, evaluation, and reporting of revenue in relation to actual and planned expenditures.
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following Knowledge
Accounting and budgeting principles, practices, and procedures
Revenue and expenditure projection and analysis
Financial reporting methods
Cost analysis methods
Research, evaluation, and assessment practices
Federal, state, and local laws and related mandates pertaining to budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting
Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Excel, and Word
Automated accounting systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

Required Education and Experience Education: A bachelor’s degree with major coursework in business administration, public administration, accounting, or a field related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Experience: Three years of experience in professional level accounting, financial forecasting, budget development, and budgetary analysis.
Additional Requirements: A valid California driver’s license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites may be required.

Selection Process Candidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a Performance Exam and Technical Interview.
