This range applies to candidates located within the United States and is determined by role responsibility, level, performance, knowledge, experience, and education or training. Application Design Engineer- General Automation/Motion . This role is at the forefront of application software development and integration in industrial applications. The Application Design Engineer performs technical assessments and development activities related to the application and integration of Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Machine and Industrial Automation Business software. The primary requirement is to review, develop, present, and support control system development for Schneider Electric OEM customers. Responsibilities (ADE team)

Integration

of multi-product software environments using a combination of off-the-shelf and custom-developed software. Consultation

on the application of Machine software packages and Schneider Electric Industry automation and control solutions. Work as part of a multi-functional team supporting customers with development, implementation, and integration of Schneider OEM automation and control solutions. Developing and presenting technical solutions and delivering customized training to customers. Leading specification, design, analysis, and development of customer engineering projects within defined scope. Testing and development of proofs of concepts of industrial automation software with SE products based on customer opportunities. Developing technical documentation, including bill of materials, User\'s Requirements Specifications, Detailed Design Specifications, Factory Acceptance Tests. Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics or similar 3+ years’ of proven experience in developing machine code with IEC 61131-3 Structured Text and Ladder Logic languages 3+ years’ of proven experience with developing industrial automation systems architectures for a wide scope of machine applications for OEMs Applied Knowledge of servo motion applications (tuning, sizing and programming) Proven problem-solving skills with troubleshooting industrial automation systems, sometimes at customer sites Applied Knowledge and troubleshooting experience of industrial networks and communication protocols (Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet IP, SercosIII, SQL, SNMP configuration, VPN, remote connectivity, etc) 3+ years’ of proven experience in developing HMI graphics and code for industrial automation systems Strong communication skills to initiate, manage, and communicate status and feedback to stakeholders Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a large team Experience presenting technical industrial automation topics to customers and internal stakeholders Preferred Qualifications

Experience in installation of panel terminations based on submittals and suggesting system improvements Experience with 3rd party commissioning agents in the commissioning process and communicating deficiencies to the project team Experience in complex motion systems involving multi-axes synchronized applications Experience in project management methodologies for scheduling and startup tasks Experience in high-level programming languages (e.g., C#, Python, OO concepts) Experience with safety architectures for machines Experience in specific segments (e.g., Packaging, Material Handling) Travel Requirements

Approximately 30% travel required (domestic and/or international). Travel to customer sites is required for kickoff meetings and commissioning. Additional travel may be required for assisting OEM sales in technical discussions, tradeshow participation, and segment-specific training. Application and Company Values
