Shop Manager - Fishing Join the Scheels team as a Shop Manager focused on fishing apparel, equipment, and accessories. Use your passion for the outdoors to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Compensation $45,000 plus first‑year base hourly pay and sales/shop commission. Earn more based on performance and enjoy a substantial associate discount on store purchases.

Schedule Work a flexible eight‑hour, 40‑hour per week schedule. Must be available Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m.‑9 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m.‑6 p.m. Schedule may include evenings, weekends, holidays and a minimum of two weekends per month.

Responsibilities

Achieve personal sales goals while delivering a great customer experience.

Answer questions about product location, price, and use with knowledge and accuracy.

Follow instructions for specific customer requests while maintaining safety requirements.

Analyze sales reports and make decisions about inventory purchasing, merchandise arrangement, and sales trends to meet or exceed Scheels standards.

Stock shelves, tables, and counters with merchandise and set up advertising, signs, and merchandise to promote sales.

Communicate professionally with vendors and outside sales representatives.

Train associates on merchandise knowledge and proper use.

Prepare for and facilitate required product knowledge and sales meetings as directed.

Attend weekly required sales and product knowledge training meetings.

Maintain a professional appearance and attitude, contribute to a positive team atmosphere, and treat others with respect while following Scheels policies and procedures.

Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence.

Perform basic math using units of currency, measurements, and percentage understanding.

Present information effectively in one‑on‑one or small group settings to customers, clients, and other employees.

Work assigned schedule, including varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and clearly explain all benefits.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or 1‑3 months related experience or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.

Customer Service: Treat co‑workers, customers, and business partners with respect, eye contact, a smile, and genuine “Thank you.”

Physical Requirements Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation. Heavy work – Exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, or 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
