Latin America Research Analyst – Portuguese Fluency (Temporary)
Join ISS | Institutional Shareholder Services as a Corporate Governance Research Analyst to complete governance research of Brazilian market companies during the 2026 spring annual meeting season, starting in January 2026 for a term ending early May 2026.
Responsibilities
Read and understand company filings with regulators, SEC filings (20-Fs, 6-ks), and corporate governance reports to draft analyses and issue proxy vote recommendations based on ISS policy guidelines.
Check and ensure accurate company data collected (financials, directors’ profiles, remuneration data, auditor fees) for proxy analysis reports.
Write timely and accurate reports in accordance with ISS procedures and policy guidelines for the respective markets.
Qualifications
Strong analytical abilities and knowledge of corporate governance issues.
Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
Organizational skills, attention to detail, familiarity with data information, self‑driven work ethic, ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a high‑pressure, deadline‑driven environment.
Willingness to work long hours and weekends during peak weeks (March & April).
Ability to work within a team‑oriented environment and communicate with various internal parties.
Familiarity with Latin America regulators and stock exchanges, as well as SEC filings.
Bachelor’s degree or higher, plus relevant work experience preferred in governance, accounting, law, or other corporate fields.
Fluency in Portuguese required, in addition to fluency in English.
Additional Information
Work Schedule: 5‑days a week in office.
Peak Season: Overtime may be requested during late March to mid‑April, including evenings or weekends.
Payroll and Benefits: Payroll provider is third party; third‑party benefits may be available after eligibility period.

Compensation Pay range for Rockville, MD, and Washington, DC, is $26.00 – $27.50 per hour. Exact compensation varies by skills, experience, and education.
Employment Type Full‑time, 40 hours per week, with overtime eligibility (subject to manager approval).
